Why? We have an extremely high standard of work and by having our team build your home we know you are getting our high standards every time!
LBPs are designers, carpenters, brick and block layers, roofers, external plasterers, site and foundations specialists who have been assessed to be competent to carry out work essential to a residential building's structure or weathertightness.
Basic building, such as laying a patio or installing kitchen cupboards, does not require a building consent. But many more complicated household projects do. If you are considering building or plumbing work, you should talk to your council to be sure. Work that does not require a consent is set out by the Building Act 2004 (Schedule 1).

Examples of work that does require a building consent:
Structural building - additions, alterations, re-piling, demolition
Plumbing and drainage (except the repair and maintenance of existing components)
Relocating a building
Installing a woodburner or air-conditioning system
Retaining walls higher than 1.5 metres
Fences or walls higher than 2 metres, and all swimming pool fences
Swimming pools
Decks, platforms or bridges more than 1 metre above ground level
Sheds greater than 10 square metres in floor area
Some earthworks also require a building consent (check with your council)

Examples of work that doesn't require a building consent:
A patio or deck at ground level
Garden trellis less than 2 metres high
Installing kitchen cupboards
A small garden pond
Maintenance of your house, for example, replacing spouting or a piece of weatherboard
Building a small garden shed
Covers loss of, or damage to, property that’s being built or altered. Also known as Builders All Risk or Contractors All Risk insurance.
Picking a plan out of the catalogue is not ideal when building a house. You might find some features that you like, but none of the designs will meet all your needs and it can be costly changing a pre-made plan.

Your home needs to work for you. If you have a boat and need more storage, you love to entertain and need an amazing space to do so, you work from home and need more than a cupboard for an office - this is what we work around - what YOU need.

There are also many factors to consider so that your home sits comfortably on the land and takes advantage of all the site has to offer (sun angles, prevailing winds, topography, site features, significant trees, neighbouring buildings, property lines, building setbacks, easements, and other characteristics that will influence the design of your house).
